The Chamber is proud to recognize the accomplishments, successes and contributions throughout the year of our small businesses with our Small Business Awards. These businesses make a huge impact in our local economy and play a crucial role in bringing more diversity and character into our growing community. These businesses are just as unique and individual as their owners, and cover a variety of industries. Not only to small businesses fuel the American dream, allowing people the opportunity to achieve financial independence, create employment opportunities and encourage innovation, they are truly invested in our community.
Having less than 100 employees, nearly 90% of Chamber members are small businesses and are truly deserving of these prestigious awards. In Alabama, small businesses make up 99.4% of all business in our state, hiring nearly 50% of all employees in our state. “Small businesses” exceed their name and leave a lasting impact on our community, and these businesses are owned by people who live in your town, worship beside you, donate to local nonprofits and coach your kids’ Little League teams. When you spend money with them, you are supporting your neighbors and community. They deserve recognition and thanks.

Why Should You Nominate Your Business or Another Deserving Business?
First and foremost, your employees deserve it. Winning an award, or just being nominated, is motivating for your employees and validates their contributions to your company’s success. Awards help show prospective customers or clients that your company is a good one with which to do business. Awards can also provide high visibility by triggering media attention that would normally cost many dollars.
Nominations will be received until midnight on Friday, August 7, 2020.
